rough cut . . . hand finished
When we originally started our company we primarily designed and handcrafted custom woodworking projects as The Crooked Board. Many people are curious about how we decided on that name for a woodworking company. When we are asked to build a piece of furniture or construct a custom built-in, the first thing that has to be done is plan how the piece will look. The wood is then selected from a pile of rough cut, "crooked boards". The wood is first planed, passed through a jointer, sanded, and finally hand finished. The end result is a beautiful and unique piece that will serve the owner for a lifetime.
Our lives are very much like that piece of furniture. Before we are born, God has a plan for our lives. Our heart is rough and our paths are crooked. When we first give our lives to Christ, God smooths our rough heart, straightens our paths, and hand finishes us. The end result is a beautiful and unique life that will serve the Creator for a lifetime. That statement gives a little insight into who we are as a woodworking company.
Since we first opened our doors for business our company has been constantly evolving. We have designed and completed many projects including bathroom remodels, kitchen remodels, set construction, exterior deck construction and many other custom projects. Tom has received a degree in Architectural Engineering Technologies from Greenville Technical College. Tom also has been trained in San Francisco in the design, fabrication and installation of concrete countertops by Cheng Design; one of the pioneers in the industry.
From coffee tables to kitchen remodels, we look forward to creating a custom project for your home or business.
